New Form of LP Investigation

Since the publication of Bird From Hell, by Gerald McIsaac (second edition published April 26, 2011), cryptozoologists have had access to three nonfiction books mainly dealing with living pterosaurs in North America. Why consider this a “new form of Living-Pterosaur Investigation?” Two of the three books have no connection with Biblical Creationist investigators, and the third book, Live Pterosaurs in America, by me (Jonathan Whitcomb; third edition of LPA published November 2, 2011), has less than one percent of the book-content related to religious matters. The other book is Big Bird, by Ken Gerhard (published February 1, 2007) We now have a new field of cryptozoology with only limited connections, if any, with Young Earth Creationism.

First, please understand my position. For eight years, I have been a part of living-pterosaur investigations, receiving essential help from YEC (Young Earth Creationists) with whom I have shared, and still share, some common Christian beliefs and truth that we have found in the Bible. How could I have had any success, or even have gotten started, without the help of my associates in living-pterosaur cryptozoology, especially Paul Nation? Almost all of the explorers and cryptozoologists who were active from about 1994 through 2006 were Biblical creationists, with most of the outspoken ones apparently being strict YEC. (The first non-Creationist ropen expedition in Papua New Guinea was early in 2007: Destination Truth television series.)

Now, at the dawn of 2012, it is becoming obvious that cryptozoological investigations of reports of living pterosaurs is no longer just a YEC quest. The eyewitness sighting reports from North America alone have resulted in three nonfiction cryptozoology books being written by three authors, apparently none of whom is a YEC Creationist, at least in the strict sense. The publication of these three books cries for attention from traditional new media, which is why this blog has been created: to publicize to the world that this is a serious branch of cryptozoology and that it does not rely on any branch of religion, as critics have implied or declared previously.
